I stumbled upon Dotee Dolls yesterday while on Swap-bot. I love these little dolls. My research has shown that I am a bit behind. These seem to have been very popular a few years ago. They are named after the creator Dot, so I have read, but can’t seem to find her.
Dotee Dolls are 4 to 6 inch stuffed hand sewn dolls with a hanger, tail, and no arms or legs. They were created to be traded or given away not sold. Although I have seen some on Etsy for sale. The dolls I have seen on Flicker, Pintrest, youtube, and different blogs are so cute and very creative. These dolls are usually very embellished and the tails are usually made of beads. The body form however can be different. I saw one that was shaped like a leaf and one like a kite. They have faces that are drawn, painted, or embroidered on.
I was so inspired that I went home after work yesterday and created 2 of my own designs. I only have them cut out so far. When I have them complete. I will post the patterns and complete how-to’s. If I can get some people interested I will form a swap group. I would love to swap these. Go check these out on Pinterest and youtube!
